River cruises and houseboats
THE HOUSE BOAT TO DISCOVER VENICE AND THE LAGUNA
Few know that it is possible to cruise the Venetian Laguna on a houseboat !! Just imagine, you will drive a specially designed boat, dedicated to you only, stop at the charming islands of Torcello and Burano, and wake up with the sight of the fabulous Piazza San Marco
The houseboats offer a dinette, 4 to 10 berths, a sunroof, front and rear propellers and access facilities for disalbeld. The rent cost are in the range of 2 to 3 thousands EUR per week depending on the size of the boat and on the dates. Off peak season, the rentduration can be even limited to only a week-end.
No previous sailing experience is required nor saling license. The sailing routes include the whole Lagina, most of the surrunding canals, but obviously not the internal canals of Venice which are dedicated to the residents and to public transport. Most of the locks in the canals are automatic and detailed sailing and mooring instructions are provided upon rent inception.
The sailing area is shown in the above map. In the area there are a couple of ports of call, where boats can be boarded – the main one is Casier on the Brenta canal – all of them easily accessable by motorway or train.
